TORONTO, September 22, 2026. BrokerPlus opened its mortgage origination system today to every licensed mortgage broker in Canada. A broker can now take a deal from the first client call to a lender without leaving the platform.
Brokers who were part of the company’s beta ran files on the system in 70% less time (from first call to the lender).
Most of the time in a Canadian mortgage file goes to work that has nothing to do with the lending decision. The same client details get typed into an application, a CRM, a document request and a compliance form. Statements arrive one at a time over a week. Compliance gets done at the end, as its own job.
On BrokerPlus the client fills out one application, and couples complete a single file together. Client calls are recorded and transcribed, and the summary lands on the deal. Documents come in through a branded portal, and the system reads each one and checks it against what the borrower said on the application. Bank statements are turned into a line by line ledger. Down payment analysis includes deposit seasoning. Statements and tax slips are screened for signs of editing, including files that have passed through a PDF editor, altered metadata, and duplicates of something already on file.
Credit runs in the same place. Brokers pull Equifax inside the file on their own subscriber code, which BrokerPlus finished setting up as an Equifax partner in August.
Compliance runs as the file moves rather than after it. Every new deal is screened for AML, sanctions and politically exposed person matches, along with identity verification, and the compliance documents a brokerage requires are auto filled in from evidence already on the file. An hour of paperwork takes minutes.
At the point of choosing a lender, each one is rated a strong fit, possible or mismatch against the deal’s ratios and that lender’s criteria. Images and Word files are converted to labelled PDFs and merged into a package named the way that brokerage names its files. The underwriter note is drafted in the brokerage’s own voice, from notes it has written before.
Submission is live on both of the channel’s main paths. A broker can send a deal to a lender directly from BrokerPlus through Newton Link, or through Finmo if they hold a Finmo account. Either way the file that goes out is the one the broker has been working on, with the documents already verified and the underwriter note already written.
“A broker should not have to change networks to change software,” said Swish Goswami, co-founder and CEO of BrokerPlus. “You keep the lender relationships you already have, and the deal goes out from the place you built it.”
Once a lender responds, conditions are restated in plain language for the client and marked satisfied when a matching document arrives. Funding paperwork is read, filled and sent for signature. After the deal closes the file stays live, and BrokerPlus keeps watching the book for refinance and renewal opportunities with the penalty math already done.
BrokerPlus calculates mortgage penalties using each lender’s own method. The engine covers 168 lenders. 89 use that lender’s specific interest rate differential formula, and 43 of those have been checked against the lender’s published disclosure, including the big six banks, First National, MCAP and EQ. The rest fall back to three months’ interest.
A broker recommending a mid-term refinance has to tell the client what breaking the existing mortgage costs. On a fixed mortgage a three-month-interest estimate can be out by thousands of dollars, and the client usually finds out after the discharge statement arrives.
More than 120 brokers pay for BrokerPlus, across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia. The company came out of stealth in June with pre-seed funding co-led by the Hyatt Family Office and Cowie Capital. Premiere Mortgage Centre, a 200-agent brokerage based in Halifax, was the first firm to put every agent on the platform. BrokerPlus is PIPEDA compliant and is slated to complete its SOC 2 Type 2 audit by the end of September.
The system costs $199 a month as of today, with no per-file or per-upload fees. Brokers who signed up before today keep their rate for as long as their account stays active, and brokerage agreements already in place are unchanged. The company is already known for turning around customer requests in a very fast amount of time and being ultra focused on delivering a great customer experience (i.e. no one can sign up for BrokerPlus without first getting a 1:1 onboarding call).
BrokerPlus is an all-in-one platform for Canadian mortgage brokers. It runs a mortgage from application through document verification, compliance and lender submission to funding, then watches the funded book for refinance and renewal opportunities with lender-specific penalty math. The company is based in Toronto and backed by the Hyatt Family Office, Cowie Capital, Tennr co-founder Trey Holterman (a16z Scout), and BET99 co-founder Jared Beber. Learn more at brokerplus.ca.
